A Vandergrift man is accused of pointing a gun at another man he believes once worst him up, borough police said.
Richard W. Nix, 55, of 501 1/2 Emerson St. was arrested at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the room of Holland and 28th streets, police said.
Chief Joe Caporali said 911 and control received numerous calls from neighbors about a shirtless man walking down an alley holding a handgun.
"The gun turned out to be a very hard-nosed looking .177-caliber air pistol," the chief said. "Unlike some look-alikes, there was no orange publicity in the barrel."
Nix was arrested without incident.
Nix reportedly told police he meditation the 41-year-old Holland Street man he confronted had been among three men who previously has assaulted him, Caporali said.
Nix was arraigned by Washington Township Ward Judge Jason Buczak. Nix was charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats and irresponsible endangerment.
Nix was sent to the Westmoreland County jail in lieu of $7,500 hold together. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled.
