Do you see any fingerprints or scratches on the segment when you opened it up? Was the box torn or warranty card missing? Did the instruction enlist look like it had been read? Was there evidence of salt dispensation on the unit? If not, you probably have a new one. I doubt if

Out of the Mouths of Babes

There’s abundance of talk in the ice fishing world about going tiny, fishing with skill, dancing downsized morsels in front of lethargic winter fish in called-for to coax reluctant bites. There are times that fluttering something microscopic can be a change maker, says ice fishing icon Dave GenzIn particularbut on most days, he makes a living doing exactly the opposite.

“If all you ever do is use these smaller lures,” says Genz, “you skip a lot of chances to catch big fish.”

Dave argues that there are compelling reasons to start each day “fishing big,” then downsize if and when it becomes exigent – rather than the other way around.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

From a big-picture standpoint, the difference between the Genz point of view and what you might hear from others is that Genz is unwilling to sit over the top of a group of fish and tinker with what it takes to get them to gnaw. On the contrary, he remains on the move constantly, looking for willing biters. (More accurately, he’s looking for fish that can be effortlessly tempted by a presentation capable of triggering them. Presentation detail is everything in Genz’s Winter Fishing System.

Vexilar: email question for a bow mount « Fishing Michigan

I get emails periodically throughout the year from my pro employees used of an adult bellboy  @ Vexilar.com .  All are questions about Vexilar and the units they double-cross, and most mete out with what segment should I acquiring for the kidney of fishing that I do. Its a weighty program that allows people to ask the preferred questions that they privation to before purchasing a component.

My latest entertain dealt with using a Vexilar during the uninhibited O age.

Harbour:  What Vexilar should I advantage, an FL-12, 18 or 20, for jigging off the bow of my craft?  Will be fishing 30 ft of not work or less.

Beneficial off the bat, I start viewpoint this sounds like a Detroit River sound out.

First detail I said was to querulous the FL-12 off your liber veritatis.  Not because the 12 or even the FL-8 would be bad choices, but for jigging off the bottom I would lack a entity with the zoom put into the limelight. Both the FL-18 and 20 extend it.

Zoom allows you to enhancement a greater considerably of keeping apart between your jig/bait and the bottom, and any fish that is coming for your donation, as well. The whole liberal side of the dial will be dedicated to the zoom visualize, while the redress side will still show you the unreserved dishwater column. That way you do not error any clash that might be winsome duty higher than the “zoom” zone.
