M1 Airsoft Gun - Outdoor Adventure

I am looking into making a custom M1 Garand airsoft gun. What would be the best way to do this?

I put faith in b plan on i would get an old stock and hand guard, but as far as the actual hardware, I am frenzied. I figured i could just take apart an old gun I don't use anymore, but I'm not sure. Resist?

get like an old .22 or something that looks like an m1 and then out the paraphernalia in it. then adjust it to make it look more like an m1 garand
