Interest in firearms, fueled partly by Wisconsinâs new concealed-bear law, prompted a thousand gun enthusiasts to the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds in Janesville on Saturday for the Stone County Rifle and Pistol Club gun show.
âInterest has definitely picked up, and Iâm dependable the new concealed-carry law has something to do with it,â said the clubâs president, Joe LeBeau of Janesville. âWe see increased interest in firearms and an gain in our membership.â
LeBeau answered questions about the club Saturday while signing up new league members. He said the club now has about 360 members including grown-up men and women and junior members.
The current club has been incorporated since 1981, but its roots go back to the Janesville Rob and Pistol Club founded in 1910.
âWeâve been around a while in one form or another, but we are seeing a lot of advance recently,â LeBeau said. âThe club is shush down now for renovations that should be completed by the end of the month.
