LISBON A saddle- and tin-tack-fitting clinic will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Raindrop Hill Arable, 1806 Route 28.
If the horse isnt comfortable, then the ride wont be either, said Joan G. Carlisle, of Sunnybrook Acreage, Ogdensburg.
Geared toward youngsters involved with Cornell Cooperative Scopes 4-H program but open to everyone, the clinic will feature Mrs. Carlisle and her sister, Judy G. Boyer, of Raindrop Hill Be killed. The pair will provide education and instruction for both English and Western riders.
Judy will talk about English and Western bolt, and I will focus on the proper fitting of saddles and tack, said Mrs. Boyer, a 4-H brotherhood leader for the past 35 years. How to properly and safely set right halters, blankets and bridles and how that translates into good performance at a horse show.
In her three-with the addition of decades of instructing riders, breeding stallions and training horses, Mrs. Boyer said, she has also watched numbers subside.
