More than 100 years ago, it was usual to see families taking part in these activities, and on Saturday, Sealy and area residents can take a stage back in time and do the same.
The Sealy Area Historical Society is holding its advance annual Spring Picnic Quilt Show and Airing of the Quilts occasion on March 30 and 31 at the Santa Fe Museum at Silliman and East Predominating Streets.
Games and tournaments on March 31 include croquet, badminton, washer pitching, hoop and stick races, tricycle races, checkers and dominoes and a old-fogyish baseball tournament.
Entertainment will include a puppet show of circus animals, a show off of antique cars, trucks, tractors and horse drawn wagons, a skit featuring Bonnie and Clyde absorbed in a shootout, Peggy Carter singing and playing dulcimers, and the E-Insipid Porch Band.
On display in the Santa Fe Museum will be antique toys of all types, including toy trucks confident by James Toman, antique dolls belonging to Cynthia Irwin and Merle Benton and an array of pass toys collected by Walter Virnau.
