Falke, Penn State Bookstore earn Pink Zone Champion Award
UNIVERSITY Parkland, Pa. — The Third Annual Penn State Lady Lion Basketball Pink Zone Advocate Award will be given to Steve Falke and the Penn State Bookstore for their generosity in supporting the WBCA Pink Zone at Penn Say. The Penn State Bookstore has been a key sponsor of the Pink Zone at Penn Country for all six years, as the exclusive outlet for the official Pink Zone T-shirts.
The Penn Formal women’s basketball team gives out the Lady Lion Basketball Pink Zone Espouse Award at each year’s Pink Zone game. This award recognizes those who improve champion our cause in finding the cure for breast cancer. The individuals or groups will be chosen to be honored because they have made pithy contributions in the area of breast cancer awareness, prevention, knowledge, treatment, research or care.
Falke and the Penn State Bookstore have donated more than $59,000 in the five-year background of Pink Zone at Penn State through t-shirt sales and other donations and are hoping for another big reckon again after this year’s sales are tallied. Falke was also instrumental in making the arrangements for Penn Magnificence students to design the shirts working with Professor Larry Sommese’s picturesque arts classes. This year’s shirt is available at all Penn State Bookstore locations. Of age t-shirts are $15 with $5 going to the Pink Zone fundraising efforts, while the young boy shirt is $10 with $3 going to the cause.
